As I approach my one year anniversary as an RPer, I question my ability more and more. It is great to be able to criticise fellow roleplayers but with this fanbase you can’t really deny that that isn’t the hardest thing in the world. 

What I find hard to believe is that mary-sues often criticise other mary-sues. I’m no psychologist but I’m pretty sure most people who own a character like that know that they’re a bad character. The problem is that a good character is such a hard thing to make. Sure, a mary-sue is annoying but it’s better than a boring character, right?

Anyway…back to my own ability. I suggest that when you create a character, you look them over carefully. Think about their every detail, is it a bad quality? Of course, I think it’s a great idea for some characters to have mary-sue qualities, it sometimes makes them interesting.

Think of some of your favourite characters. Do they have mary sue qualities? Are they still a good character? If you can think of a character like this then please contact me through questions or posts.
